The End
The end of the experiment is almost here. I honestly can't wait, I've been going through some tough times this past week. Once this is over I'm going out to eat I'm not sure where I'm going but I will be eating out. This is not the first time I had to do this but it is the first time I had to and it was a problem. I'm proud of myself for making it through and saving money. Come next semester when I get more declining points I think I will start over and not go out as much, making more money for me to spend on other stuff.

Day 5
On Sundays I always go to my other aunts house to pick up my clothes, hang out, and eat. Every Sunday my aunt cooks, and since my little cousin and her 4 month old daughter came up, my aunt cooked exactly what my little cousin asked for. The night before my aunt had six or seven kids at her house so she ordered pizza. On Sunday I went over to my aunts house to get some food, but I didn't like what she had cooked for my cousin and all she had was the left over pizza, I was extremely hungry and hadn't ate all day. I was really close to cheating on my experiment because I haven't had pizza in so long and I didn't like what she cooked. I eventually ate what she cooked because I didn't want to cheat on my experiment, and the kids also ate all the pizza before I got to it.
Day 4
Saturday was day 4 of the experiment. It was also one of the hardest days I've had so far. Saturday I had to go to my aunts house early in the morning to fix and move stuff for her. Normally when I go down there I stop and get something to eat from Mcdonalds or somewhere but thanks to the experiment I couldn't do that. So Saturday morning I woke up and went to breakfast in the cafe. After I got done with stuff at my aunts house, my grandmother came home and she was starving and they didn't have any food so my aunt, grandmother, and mom wanted to go out to eat, but I had to explain to them why I couldn't go out to eat. So they went out and got Chinese food and brought it back, thankfully I don't like Chinese food like I used to, so it didn't bother me that much. However, they wanted to go somewhere and taste cheesecake for Thanksgiving, I think, but I couldn't go do that either, and I really wanted some cheesecake too. Dinner was easy because I had some dinners I bought from Wal-Mart that I usually eat on the weekends anyway. So at the end of the day Saturday I still $34 left and haven't cheated on my experiment.

Day 3
Today is day 3 of my quest to find out if I can go a week without going out to eat and how much money I will save by not going out to eat. So far I haven't broke down and went out to get some food but it gets harder and harder everyday. The big part of the test is coming up, because it's the weekend and sometimes I go out to eat with friends or just go grab something from McDonalds. The first day went pretty good until I was done with all my classes then I started getting hungry and I really wanted a pizza from Little Caesars but I had a hot pocket instead. Later that night my friends thought it would be fun to order a pizza from Hungry Howies and eat it right in front of me, knowing that I can't have any. As much as I wanted to eat some, I had good self control and didn't eat any. Overall, I think the first day went pretty good because I didn't eat the pizza and didn't spend any money, so I still had $40, which I set aside for food every week. Yesterday, I wanted a chicken sandwich from Chick-Fil-A, so I went to the OC and got one. The problem is, I forgot I was out of declining points so I had to use cash to pay for my food. So I spent 6 dollars on my food. Later that day I went to my aunts house like I do every Thursday, and this is the one day I went over there and she didn't cook anything. On Tuesdays and Thursdays her grand kids come over after school to hang out for a while. They usually eat and then do their homework and seeing as how my Aunt didn't cook, they went and got a pizza from Little Caesars. Once again I was forced to sit there and be around them eating food that I wish I could have. This experiment raises a lot of questions and leads to a long conversation about why I can't go out to eat. Hopefully, I won't cheat on the experiment and won't spend anymore money.

Day 1
Today begins day one of my struggle to not go out to eat. So far I feel good about the experiment I don't want or feel like going out to eat but it is only noon. I am hungry and all I've eaten is a cereal bar to hold me over until I have time to get some real food. I find it interesting that up until this point I haven't even thought about eating my mind has been focused on classwork. Normally I don't eat until after all my classes anyway so around 2:30 things should start getting interesting.

Intro blog
I'm Nic, and this blog is about my long journey of not going out to eat for a week. It will be hard, but I will do it and save money, hopefully. I can't go to any restaurants like McDonalds, Burger King, Olive Garden, Friday's, etc. The only way I can do this is me having to go to Wal-Mart this afternoon and go grocery shopping for the next week. I am doing this not only because it's required, but because lately I have been going out to eat a lot lately and I want to stop, and I'm curious as to how much money I spend a week going out to eat. I hope to learn how much money I'll save by not going out to eat for a week and how often going out to eat actually crosses my mind. I expect to learn how much money I will save during this week long experiment. This will be difficult because in my dorm I have a small refrigerator and I usually save the food in my refrigerator for the weekend or late nights because I don't usually go anywhere and I get really hungry at night. So not going out to eat will defiantly be hard but to solve this problem I will have to eat more on campus or go to my aunt house more because she cooks a lot.
